I broke away from unending computer work today, went back in my shop, and inseamed a boot. Plus, I experimented with a new way to attach fishing line bristles. It was fast and easy, and they stayed on!

New shoes!

My shoes are finished and I finally got to try them on. They fit beautifully! I can’t wear them home though, because I want to take good pictures in my lightbox before I wear them. Shoemaking class

This is my second pair of shoes, now on the last. Today I’ll inseam them and also attach rhinestones in each of the little holes that are around the lacing area. These shoes make me think of a tuxedo.IMG_715

Shoemaking class

My very first hand stitched sole. I’ll clean it up, and I have many little refinements to learn, but I’m proud of them! I plan to spend my evening whining about how tired I am, and then sew the next one tomorrow. It’s a size 6 and it took me two hours, so I’m kinda slow.

Shoemaking class

I was able to figure out the/a technique for using curved needles for inseaming, and I’m very pleased with the final outcome.

This is the first shoe I inseamed.

Class is over for the day at 5pm, and I finished at 4:59. Then I swept the floor, because that is what good students do.
