Preparing to peg soles
This is how I mark where the peg line will go–I use my forefinger as a spacer and my thumb nail to mark the line.
Shank covers
This morning I’m adding and pegging shank covers. I hope to lay the soles this afternoon.
Paige’s drawing
Instead of cowboy boots, today I’m going to post a picture I found that Paige Sorrell drew of me 12 years ago. I think it’s an amazing likeness.
Clocking out
I wasn’t planning to allow myself to go home until I’d inseamed both but it’s after 6pm and I’m tired. The second boot will still be there tomorrow.

New table
Today I traded the TV in the back room for this big table. It will be perfect for displaying large pieces of leather for clients and it has two deep drawers for storage.
Boot tops
This is what I did today. The top band is blue ostrich, the tops are gray rough-out kangaroo, and there are five rows of stitching–four purple and one bone.
