Today I traded the TV in the back room for this big table. It will be perfect for displaying large pieces of leather for clients and it has two deep drawers for storage.

This is what I did today. The top band is blue ostrich, the tops are gray rough-out kangaroo, and there are five rows of stitching–four purple and one bone.
Lisa talks about the difference between talent and skill on a new segment entitled “You Want My Opinion?”, features a photo essay of shoemakers wearing their work, and demonstrates reinforcing an ostrich vamp prior to crimping on “In the Studio.”
I just finished editing the final video of my boot making class. I’m express mailing a DVD I burned to the video company on Monday to make sure I did it correctly and my format is usable. If I hear good news from them next week I’ll have a boxed set of boot making class DVDs available soon (like two-three weeks soon)!

It was a long and frustrating afternoon putting the hidden zipper into the side seam of these boots, but I prevailed. And in other good news, I have phone and internet again!
My internet and phone at my shop have been dead for the past four days. It’s been easier to update Instagram so if you’d like to see what I’ve been doing check it out. Cox Cable guy is here now and I’m hoping to have internet soon!

Today I have to share a photo of a pair of boots made by my talented boot maker friend Paul Krause of Prescott, Arizona. Aren’t these totally cool?

My 16 year old daughter makes ladies shoes but she’s been so busy with school this year that she’s barely had time to be at her workbench. Today was a snow day so she worked in my shop and finished a pair of black flats for herself that she started a long time ago.
