My boots got to see a glacier yesterday. Don’t worry–Dale was holding them so they wouldn’t fall!

Dale and I are traveling this week, celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. My boots are having lots of fun! Last night we danced to Jim Ed Brown singing the old Louvin Brother song “When I Stop Dreaming.”

I had hoped to start cutting leather today but instead I completed all of the pattern pieces and fit the last.

Paige is in Georgia for five weeks at the Savannah College of Art and Design. In addition to the regular classes she’s taking, she’s also making a pair of gold, stitch-down chukkas with my friend Marcell.

This is the design for the next pair of boots I’ll be making.

Emelie is finishing the heels on her boots. We were a little worried we wouldn’t have time to finish them since we took a day off and went to the lake over the fourth of July. But she’ll have a completed pair of boots to take home!

A new order of Baker Leather arrived at my shop this morning. There are some really nice heavy insole shoulders in this order.

My daughter Morgan has started a blog and her first post is about working in the shop with me. Since she’s a great writer and really funny, I suggest you follow her.
