Preparing to last

We’ve turned the boots and will be lasting them this morning. We’ve trimmed the insoles and Emelie is preparing the channel and prepunching the holes for inseaming.

A good day at Sorrell Custom Boots

It’s a pleasant day in my shop today. My apprentice Brittney is busily stitching tops for the two pairs of boots she’s making and my new student Emelie is beginning her boots. She arrived from Sweden in athletic shoes but she’ll go home with cowboy boots!

By the way, I took the picture of the blue boots by myself and it’s the first boot shot I’ve been happy with since my photographer closed his business several years ago. I have a wonderful new camera and an even more wonderful daughter who’s teaching me to use it.
