New boots

It’s late and I’m ready to go home, so this will be a simple photo essay of what I’ve done today.

About customboots

I'm a custom cowboy boot maker. I own a business, Sorrell Custom Boots, and I create bespoke cowboy boots using vintage machinery and hand tools. I also own www.sorrellnotionsandfindings.com, a company that specializes in tools, supplies, and leather for the boot and shoe making trade.

    Is it tough keeping your stiches spaced evenly on the rough surface of the alligator?

      Yes, everything about doing inlay in alligator is harder. The scales are firm and the leather between them is soft, so cutting and stitching evenly through those differences is a challenge.
