I have the toe box in the rose boots. Depending on how my day goes, I may inseam them this afternoon.

I made these boots for myself in 2003. They’ve been resoled once, but this time the toe was worn through and they needed a new foot too. I tore them apart to fix a year ago, but putting on a new foot meant sewing a small part of each side seam by hand. Every time I thought of hand sewing the side seam I just couldn’t EVEN, so they’ve sat for months. Today I finally forced myself to do it and now I’m quite excited about getting them finished again.
This boot is titled “A Good Year for the Roses.”

My new apprentice Mallory is showing a remarkable aptitude for leather inlay and overlay. She’s inlaid the Beijing Drum and Bell Towers into her boot tops.

Introducing the encore edition of “Working Man Blues.” These boots have needed to be resoled for a long time and I’m happy to have them back.

I’ve updated my website with a link to my newsletter for August.
