Here’s a link to my Monday YouTube video.

I bought a new camera/camcorder today. I’m feeling much, MUCH poorer at the moment but on the bright side my boot photographs and YouTube videos should be better quality now.

My student in her new boots. She looks happy, don’t you think?

You know it’s been a good day when it ends with cowboy boots on the trees.

We pulled the lasts out of the boots today and now we’re finishing the heels.

My student and I have been working hard on our boots and I’ve been slow at posting results, so we’re a lot farther along than my last post! Today we’re building the heels and it looks like we’ll put the final layer on before the day is over. If any of you are familiar with my shop and you notice things look different you’re right–I was bitten by the rearranging bug last week. That little guy bites me pretty often!
This is a link to my March newsletter with an essay I wrote about the power of craft. To receive my monthly newsletter directly send an email to customboots@aol.com with “subscribe” in the subject line.

This is what happens when you forget to turn your pattern over. You end up with two fillers for the right boot and none for the left.

My student just finished inseaming her first boot. I’ll have her out of those athletic shoes soon!
