This is only the second time I’ve had to do a sole with two rows of stitching and I’ve been worrying about it since I took the order. But it’s done and it looks great!

My heating unit stopped working a couple of weeks ago and then miraculously started working again on its own, coincidentally enough the same afternoon that we had an earthquake. Early Monday morning we had another and I arrived at my shop to find it cold–no heat. Yesterday the service guy came and told me the circuit board is fried. This morning we had another earthquake. When I got to the shop it was warm and the heater was running! I think God is playing with me.

I inseamed both of these boots today.

I have to admit to feeling a bit of pride this morning. These weren’t easy.

Here’s the pattern and the beginning of the inlay process.

Teeny tiny letters are the bane of my existence. But, they’re done and the plane looks great!

My file drawer was full and I finally went through my files and purged everyone who hasn’t ordered for over 8 years, or who had their feet measured “just in case they ever decide to order.” This sort of clean-up is usually a cosmic cue for at least one of these people to call me, ready to order boots.

It’s late and I’m ready to go home, so this will be a simple photo essay of what I’ve done today.

Look what I got in the mail today from an artist friend of mine! It’s a watercolor painting of one my boots!

A pair of my boots (with a client inside) came to visit me at my booth at the Philadelphia Craft Show.

My booth was just visited by a member of the catering staff who invited me to come see her at the Tofu Buffet. Now there’s a phrase you don’t hear in Guthrie.
