Blowing glass

Today I was invited up to the glass blowing studio to try blowing glass with Nancy Callan, an amazing glass blower. I was NOT amazing. I couldn’t manage to both blow and twirl the glass at the same time, and in my sincere efforts to blow in the tube I slobbered all over. I will feature video of my utter failure at glass blowing on “It’s a Boot Life” in May.

Penland School of Craft

I’m teaching an inlay/overlay class at the Penland School of Craft in North Carolina this week. The room is bright and spacious, and I really enjoy teaching here.

New high heels

My daughter Paige made me a pair of high heels! They fit perfectly and I love them. I didn’t dress for heels today though.

The leather is chocolate kangaroo and black hair-on calf. It’s super soft and comfy.

Boot making class

“How to Make Cowboy Boots” class in Lisa’s studio

I’ve been announcing that I have no more boot making classes for the rest of 2015, but I’ve had one spot open up. The dates are July 27-August 7. The class is $3750 but this link will only allow you to pay the deposit of $1875. The final payment is due upon arrival for the class.

Paige’s new work bench

I have an extra work bench in my shop, and Paige’s business is going really well, so I cleared off the extra bench and told Paige it could be hers. She’s super excited and has promised to keep it neat (ish).

Wing and counter tips

I’ve made a small start on this pair of boots too. They have a turquoise foot with chocolate wing and counter tips. I have the wing and counter tips done but there’s a lot more work to go.
