I’m starting a new boot top design. When there are tiny design elements I like to cut them out with a knife and draw the stitching line around the shapes so I’ll know exactly how they will fit.

It is now almost 4pm and I’ve been sitting at my desk doing computer work all day. Since I don’t have freshly completed boot photos to share I will leave you with this.

One of my Penland students just sent me a box of clotted cream. I shall eat it with homemade scones and think about how he’s my favorite student. He included some small jars so I could “share.” I have no idea what he’s talking about.

Inseaming is one of my favorite parts of making boots. I still have three more pairs to inseam though, so by the end of the day I might not have quite so much enthusiasm.
