USNA

Throwback to the time I built a pair of boots for a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. Please note the red, white, and blue top beading.

Picture quality isn’t that great because I am old and these were taken with film, and this is a scan of a photo.

About customboots

I'm a custom cowboy boot maker. I own a business, Sorrell Custom Boots, and I create bespoke cowboy boots using vintage machinery and hand tools. I also own www.sorrellnotionsandfindings.com, a company that specializes in tools, supplies, and leather for the boot and shoe making trade.

Lisa, I assure you that you are not old! The World Health Organization, having nothing better to do, established the definitions: 62 and up is elderly, 72 and up is old, and very old starts at 92.
On the other hand, when I look at what is involved in soling and unlasting cowboy boots I
I can see why you might feel like it late some afternoons…. Having turned 78 last Saturday
I am glad I designed my boots as simple stitch-outs with rubber soles (and moved into a
place in a senior community into which I could squeeze my own leather shop). So take
heart, you still have a couple of decades left!
