October boots

October boots

Guess what happens after I finish a pair of boots? That’s right–I start another pair. This is the design for one of the boots I’ll be making this month.

I noticed in your previous post that you were doing a pair for September, and now another for October. Are you only able to do one pair per month or is this just your system?

      Westley,
It depends on my schedule. When I’m alone in my shop I like to make two to three pairs of boots per month. There’s a lot of wet/dry time when making boots and it’s inefficient to only work on one pair. When I have a student I make one pair of boots alongside the student. That way I can demonstrate techniques on my own work and they build their own boots.
